Wanna see?

I have gotten a lot of questions about my workspace.
I have to say that it really helps to have a dedicated space, preferably with a door, to really get a lot of work done. But even with the best organization and large area, I still find myself piled up in a mess and working in the tiniest part of the table!
These were some crabby cards I was making for the Art Partners trunk show.
I had a lot of fun with these. Some were going to a party... others on a beach... juggling balls...
And this next card is one using the Ain't Life Grand set.
I didn't know how much I'd like it til i actually tried it out! I placed Swarovski crystals around the edge and stamped with metallic silver ink. It really is a grand card!!!

Anyway, I am starting to make plans for next week's Spring Break! The kids are out of school for almost a week and they are dying to get out on the egg farm... so we may head that way! I think this year's Easter Egg Hunt will be loads of fun seeing that there will be acres and acres of land to search! I hope the dog doesn't give away the hiding spaces. So as you can imagine... next week i will probably be working on eggs. A favorite project!

Hope you have a great week. See you soon!

March ATCS are postal! finally!

I finally got the march atc swap in the mail.
here are some of the cards. Everyone got different ones... 5 total. The theme was GREEN or SPORTS.

Cleaning from the inside out!

Ok... so last year my big project was turning my cluttery room into a working studio. Which turned out great! I had a place for almost everything... and everything else landed in the closet.
And if you know me... as long as there is a door, you can hide anything!
So this year... my big spring cleaning... my closet!
I love it... except to say... I wish i had another closet... but we'll make due.
Here's the before:
and with some spackle, paint and a few new bookshelves...
voila!:

So with that done... now down to some business.

First. Thank you to all who came and visited me at the Art Partner's trunk show on Saturday. I enjoyed the entire day... and appreciate all who support me!!! Thank you Susie and Barbara for having me!

Second. If you are local to me... and you have a child between the ages 6-10 who would likes to craft... I am running a one session only RENEW, RECYCLE and RECREATE art camp this summer. It is the first week of Aug. If you are interested, please email me at allison@stampinwithallison.com and I will forward you info.

Third... The MARCH ATCs are delayed this month. But they will mail out regardless of the final set getting here tomorrow am. I apologize for the delay... I always like to make sure all our participants get their's in...

Some SU news: The SAB mini catalog is coming to a close and the new MINI OCCASIONS catalog goes into effect on April 1.
Also... started the Summer 2009 catalog year, we will be going back to 1 big catty per year and 4 minis (like in the past). This will help in lots of ways... starting with you... the customer. Now you don't have to feel pressured to buy something if you think it will retire in 6 mos. Also... for me... I do not have to keep buying "new" to demo "new"! We can go back to concentrating on making our dollar stretch with new projects instead of new stamps!

I think that's what I have for today. I hope you have a great week. I'll see you back here soon!

Flutterby Card!

This morning I woke up with a serious sore throat and body aches... so instead of getting right to work (after getting the kids off to school...) I spent an hour knitting and then enjoyed a hot cup of Peppermint Tea. It was only then I was ready to stamp away!
Today I made two different cards. I made some Mother's Day cards with vintage style buttons and then moved onto flitting butterflies!
(SU-Flight of the Butterfly stamp set). The butterfly is a two step stamp where I stamped the background with my favorite pink (pink pirouette - in color for this year) and then using close to cocoa and choc chip, I stamped the outline and dots (using the Stamp-a-majig - check out my site www.stampinwithallison.com for how to use this neat tool!) onto vellum cardstock. Then carefully cut out the vellum, scored the wings to "flap" and adhered the center body onto the pink! This is a very cute and easy way to add POP! to your cards!

Anyway, now it's time for lunch (tuna melts, anyone?) and then have to pick the girls up early for their dentist appts! (wish us luck!).
Hope you have a great day!
See you soon!

New from the Mini catalog!

I received my shipment of goodies from the new Occasions Mini catalog (on sale starting April 1). From the mini I purchased the "Sense of Time" and "Forest Friends" stamp sets. In addition I got the Jumbo Grommets.
I just love the little critters in the Forest Friends set. There's a cute "bambi-like" deer, a "Thumper-like" bunny, an owl and a tree. Such a cute set!!! I stamped directly onto the SAB designer paper (Delicate Dots) and used the SAB Ribbon Duo Bundle.
I made two cards today featuring our little Bambi. The sentiments are from Papertrey Ink.

Tomorrow I am having some friends over for a knitting day! I will attempt a pair of socks (Thanks Stacie for suggesting the new project!) I am so excited to have my friends here to catch up and spend the day together! Maybe I'll post a pic of my progress...
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

A simple Card

It's been a while since my last post. I have been knitting a sweater and it turns out, it takes a lot of time! Anyway... today I put my yarn down and decided it was time to make a card or two!

Here's a pic of a simple card. I scallop punched the edge and used the retired set Simple shapes as well as the current sets- Essence of Love and Eastern Blooms. The colors are chocolate chip (of course!) and old olive. The DSP is BELLA Rose.So I made several variations of this design. Some for bday, some thanks and I think I may make a few congrats too... since i can see it as a clean wedding card as well!
These will be available at the stores soon!
