I woke up early this morning and actually spend some quality "me" time... I recently signed up for a Penguin ATC swap... and even tho I need 9 total, I made just one so far.
I may decide to make them all part of a series or all one of a kind.
Anyway, here's the one from this morning!

Look what my dear hubby gave me? They are so cute! Monkeys... to make me smile! Actually there are a few more poses, but these best represent how I feel today! Maybe tomorrow I will post another~ I'm ready for the MUSE trunk show! I hope~... fingers are crossed.

July's ATCs - Altered Photos

I FORGOT... to take pictures of the whole lot... (sorry...).
But I did get a pic of the ones I ended up with.
This month was so much fun. A little out of the ordinary - Altered Photos.
Each swapper made 3 One Of A Kind atcs and you got 3 in exchange. (none of your own).

Ready for the MUSE!

I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. For the last two weeks I have been non-stop creating. It's been a real test of patience and endurance.
But it's really getting there! -YEA!

I will be setting up at the Muse on fri and then doing last min prep all day. If you are local to Frederick, MD you are in for a fun FIRST SATURDAY Downtown! I will be at the Muse for my first MUSE TRUNK SHOW (SAT AUG 1 4:30-closing)! I am so excited and can't wait for the fun night out! Come and visit me if you can...

So that's where I am today. I am also preparing for next week's Reuse, Recycle and Re-CREATE craft camp for kids. Those will prove to be 3 fun days of making trash into treasure!
A special thank you to Rene' and Stacie for collecting items for the camp all summer long. It really does take a while to go thru tissue boxes and jars of food!

Where is the time going?!?!

I was just talking with my friend about how fast this summer is whizzing by. Before we know it August will be here.

I was finally able to finish and bind several calendars... and I think I'll be able to finish up tomorrow. (*fingers are crossed!)

I'm really happy with the results. I have some cute button pages that I will take pictures of for the next posting...
Next week I will concentrate on making card sets and dog cards!

Already JULY?!?!

So how has your summer been going? I can't believe that my slow, relaxing summer has taken on this hectic pace! I expected lots of days just spending quality time with the girls... only to find us scrambling to catch up with time...

I finally buckled down to work this and last week. After spending some time on the farm, selling eggs at the farmer's market, taking the girls down to the lake, having a few small hiccups... i realized that August 1 is FAST approaching!

I will be at the MUSE in downtown Frederick on August 1 for my very first MUSE Trunk Show! From 4:30-9pm, Whitney is gracious enough to have me in her store sharing the "paper" i love! I will have some handmade journals (including hand sewn pages and pieced fabric hardcovers), cards (of course) and some calendars.

These are just views of pages I am working on now. each page is sewn, painted and then decorated. I am excited this year because while painting these pages I could start to envision what I want each color to represent and what difference images would work! These calendars are very time and labor intensive. each one can take up to 15 hours of work. But I love how they turn out and the project allows me to incorporate so many different textures and artforms I love... that I normally do not include with my greeting cards.

Also, on a different note, I really wanted to share this ATC i received in the mail from Diane. I mentioned a few times before, she and I have been trading cards in the mail, 1-for-1, for a while now. She sent me this beautiful card, complete with mini easel and friendly note, and I just had to share. Diane's atcs are so complex. She pays attention to every layer of her card... and there are MANY. I really appreciate her perfection when she creates her cards for me. I can really sense her "heart" on each one she sends.

June ATCs are finally ready! And Catties R Here!

Well .after a long delay... here are the atcs we have for June! Thank you to all the players this month.
The theme was PLACES and there were certainly lots of different places!

Next month we are trying something new. You make only 3 - one of a kind cards with the theme - ALTERED PHOTOS. You send in those 3 and you get 3 entirely different cards back. You can alter them as you please. With paint, ink, distressing, stamp on them, use gesso... anything you would like! Please post a comment or contact me for for more info.

There are lots of books you can check out at the libraries and browse at book stores. Also, if you try to enter ALTERED PHOTO TECHNIQUES in an online search, you are bound to come up with tons of ideas!
HAVE FUN! And sign up by posting here or on my other site! I will email you my mailing address. There is no limit to number of places. Only that you need to sign up before JULY 15th - since swaps are due by JULY 2oth.

One other note! THE CATTIES have ARRIVED! IT is GREAT! I have already read thru it several times and have dogearred page after page of new and very cool items!
