Getting ready for Easter!

Making Easter cards have always been a bit challenging for me. This year I am trying a different angle. Instead of all stamped images, I am using a bit of paper piecing. I have always liked the chick in egg image, so I am using that one this year :)

Here I adhered strips of ribbon to the background and pieced the egg on top of it using dimensionals.
Swarovski crystals detail the sentiment. and the inside is blank for your own personal message.

A couple weeks ago it felt like Spring was fast approaching... but now I'm not sure when winter will end. It's been so cold out... I am thinking ahead to our 60 and 70 degree days... hopefully they will be here soon!

New Easter cards at the stores this week and next...
See you soon!

Wire Hearts Valentines!

So yesterday I made a bunch of wire hearts at Stacie's house. She showed me some wire techniques and set me free in her jewelry room! (I just love it!)

Here's a card a made! I hand sewed on the hearts and embossed the layer with dots.
Inside says, Happy Valentine's Day".

Hammered Hearts

Yea! Snow day!

Actually... it didn't snow as much as we expected... but the kids still got a free snow day! So we geared up early and headed out to sled on the hills.

And I got to have a little play time at Stacie's! I made these cute hearts out of nickel and copper wires. I shaped the hearts and then hammered them to a perfect finish!

I'm going to add these to valentine cards! I can't wait to see how they turn out!

Now for the big question... school delay tomorrow?

Heart House

Here's another Valentine! This one has tons of sewing and features a vintage french book page "house". I love all the different layers of designer paper...
We are expecting snow tonight! I hope it snows a lot... we just love when it is fluffy and white outside!
Hope you are having a nice week too!

Valentines...

Now that the holidays are over, I am really starting to think hearts!
I'm not sure why, but it looks like I am stuck on this color combo - blues, reds and pinks! It is such a refreshing combination and it's cute without being too cutsie!

I am really going to concentrate on vamping up my etsy store. It has been kind to me and I've been neglecting it. So stay tuned for more scheduled listings and new ideas!

Fall Scarecrow Card

Just a quick post today...
This week I did a few things. I helped Stacie prepare for a show she is having in Annapolis next weekend and I made more Halloween and Fall cards.
This Scarecrow card is a Stampin Up image and I used a masking technique to layer images on top of another. I love those Copic markers for blending and shading...
This card will be at the Muse by the end of today.
(as well as several Halloween cards!)
I ordered several new stamp sets for new cards which should arrive next week! I can't wait!!!
Hope you all have a great weekend. See you next week!

New Father's Day card

I'm loving Tim Holtz stamps for Father's Day cards. It's really a challenge for me to make masculine cards... and I find that many Holtz images are perfect! Coupled with Stampin' Up card stock and vintage brads, I think it's about ready for that special dad!Spending the rest of the tidying up in here. I can't seem to find my mind in all this clutter.
Hope you are well!

Spring is here!

I finally feel like Spring is here! It feels so great to go outside without my heavy coat on... It's WARM! YEA!

I spend most of today thinking about new ideas for my business. I want to add a line of bookmarks (baubles, paper and metal) and perhaps something else. I really like handmade beads... so I will incorporate them somehow.

I also have a few handmade journals I want to list as well. Each is hand made from the bare pages. I hand cut and hand bound each register ... covered chipboard for front and back cover and made a spine. Each is complete in fabric (some are patchworked) and have liners.
We'll see... not sure.

For now, I have two cards to share:
The Bridal Shower card is stamped in silver pigment ink and has a vellum cardstock liner. A swarovski crystal earring... and a satin red ribbon.
The easter card is a Stampin Up stamp colored in alcohol ink. with added satin ribbon and dimensionals for accents. Don't forget the vintage buttons!

Hope you are having a great week.
See you soon!

Happy Monday!

Just checked the weather forecast... looks like we may get more snow on tues nite, and again on Friday or Sat and then maybe again next week! This has been an unusual winter. We really never this much snow. Either way, I like the snow. I just don't like how it saps my days away and I get backed up in chores and work...
Today I did get right down to crafting. I made a few cards that are now up on etsy.
Here's a peek!

A quick update on a local craft show coming up.
Last year I did a show at FINRA in Rockville, MD. This year I am pretty sure I'll be there again. More details about the show to come... but for now the dates are :
Wednesday April 28 and Thursday April
29.
