What have I been up to?
Every year I make calendars for sale thru the stores. Since they take quite a bit of time to make, I decided to start them now! This year I plan to have many ready for sale by August 1~ just in time for mt trunk show at the Muse! (I am so excited! more info to come!)
The first step is to fold and sew all the brown bags! I have 500 to sew!
So Far I am at about 100. Next step, base paint them all! That's next week!
That's what I've been up to. I am eagerly awaiting all the ATCs for this month's swap... which was themed: wings. I will post a pic soon.

Took a Collage class
Last night, Stacie and I took a collage class taught by Courtney Prahl. It was so much fun! There was a great turn out and we learned some of her secrets to great collage-ing! I especially liked using the oil pastels. They are creamy and blend well. Also they are very vibrant in color... which is something I generally don't use a lot of (color!).
I made two atc size cards. one I traded (ironically Stacie got mine!) and one I kept for home.
Here's the one I brought home:Courtney's classes are a lot of fun. This is my second class taught by her. The first was shrink plastic... shrinky dinks for adults! Check out other classes hosted by the MUSE on Whitney's website: www.shopthemuse.com!
I have a long day ahead of me... got TONS of laundry and errands. Then off to lunch and to my drawing class. Now that's a hard class... I'm not sure if realism is my forte. It doesn't come naturally and I struggle a lot with perspective, measurements and generally everything else! I want to take a anime class. I think I would be better at that.
Who knows!
Anyway, Thank you to Courtney, Whitney and Margaret for another very FUN class!!!

Here it is... MOM's DAY!
So I made a card using the BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY sizzix SU die. I had to make mom a mother's day card. I used the new SU Designer paper TEA PARTY and the pretties kit for the pearls. I pulled out a bronze straight pin for the body. Slightly folded the wings up a little for flight.
What a great SU product. I haven't raved about a product in a while. I love it so much that I may invest in some other dies too. We'll see.
Hope you have a great day...
See you soon!

LOOK at what I MADE!!!
I finally decided that i could not live without the Stampin' Up SIZZIX BIGZ BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY DIE. I got it in the mail a little while ago and finally had some time to play with it today. Oh my goodness!!! I LOVE IT!
Here's what I made!~
I cut them out in vellum cardstock and strung them on fishing line! Then I made a wire frame out of old thick gauge wire and tied the strands of butterflies on!
I am submitting this project to a magazine for kid's room decorating using Stampin' Up!
If you only buy a few things this year, I have to say this is a must. I'm moving onto cards as soon as I finishing posting this! SO EXCITING!!!

TOTALS so far for BUILDING DREAMS
Ok. I finally got my numbers crunched and here we go:
As of MAY 5, 2009 we have raised: $194.67. Now that's a great start.
I know we are a ways away from our $3k goal, but we are just going to chug along and see how far we can get. At the end of the year, we will send Double Harvest all that we have raised.
I am working hard on getting several pieces ready for sale also for this. Knitted items and felted items.
These rings and trinkets are hand felted and beaded. I just love the feel. They have such a vintage feel. I may make a little collection packed in a decorated tin... After several weeks of non-stop work on greeting cards, I'm excited to have this time to take a small break play with my non paper supplies!
Well, thank you to all who purchased and donated to Building Dreams. Let's keep it going!

A new ATC in the mail!
Look what my friend Diane sent me in the mail today! An ATC and a very sweet atc easel! That was just so nice! THANK YOU DIANE! I love the card. It is displayed now in my room...
I have the final numbers for the Building Dreams almost ready to post. We are still a ways away, but we are making plans for other fundraising as well. Bake sales, and coffee/bagels for some non-craft ways to raise money. Ideas are pouring in...
A special thank you to Madison Spencer. Maddie made cute pictures for sale and donated to the Building Dreams fund. She is in 1st grade and seems to have already inherited her mother's generous heart. Thanks Maddie.
I'll be back soon with updates and new pics!
See ya!
